PC/SC Card Reader not visible on Windows Server 2008 64 Bit

Omnikey 6121 Mobile USB Card Reader

In the AnywhereUSB/14 an Omnikey mobile USB card reader is installed.

AnywhereUSB Viewer Utility shows the USB as “[Port1] DeviceConnected: OMNIKEY 6121”

Problem:

But if I list the PC/SC terminals installed, the card reader is not listed. This means, accessing the card reader via PC/SC is not possible.

Note:
On Windows 7 and 8 the same setup is working. The USB card reader ist shown as PC/SC Terminal “OMNIKEY AG Smart Card Reader USB 0” and accessing it is possible.

Because our setup works with Windows 7 and 8, what do we have to do to get it work on Windows Server 2008?

We have a similar problem with PC/SC card readers on some versions of Windows server 2008.

Did anyone ever resolve this?
