Power supply filtering

I have a portable application for my ZNet 2.5. It run off a 12 volt battery, but it regulated by an Diodes Inc AP1117E33G-13 regulator so I thought everything would be safe, but we’ve fried 4 modules on power up so far. I’m assuming it’s due to power spikes.

Anyone have a suggestion on a decent power supply filter that will help cut our losses?

Do you have a development board to check to see if the modules are fried?

I have been using this regulator – reg104-33 from Texas Instruments. It works fine as long as the input voltage is below 15V.

Also, make sure that the output voltage is 3.3V after you solder the regulator. Only then connect the module to your board.

Hope this helps.
