RCM5600W MiniCore WiFi Ad Hoc mode, Connecting

I am running the demo program browsled with the settings out of the box in the ad hoc mode. I am using a Ipod Touch to connect to the rabbit. I can “fool” around (technical term) with the ipod and get it to connect maybe 1 time out of 5. I am unclear on what I am doing wrong. In the settings one the ipod I assign the IP address to 10.10.6.101 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The ssid is found correctly by the ipod touch.

After doing the above it will sometimes connect, but usually I have to tell the ipod to forget the settings and then it will connect yet when I check the settings I will have the settings as I set them… Do I have to tell the ipod what IP and subnet I have set the Rabbit to? I doubt it because when I connect with my mac mini the rabbit web page came up as soon as I entered the web address of 10.10.6.100.

Hope this makes some sense. I think it is the ipod that doesn’t like ad hoc but not sure.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Kevin

I don’t understand very well your problem but I used to running the browsled demo with a NOKIA N95 and there is no problem.

I need to specify the network mode (ad-hoc) and security mode (open network).
