Red Light on USB Anywhere

Only getting a solid red light on the USB anywhere device. It is plugged into a working network switch.

Most likely, that means that the AnywhereUSB is set to “DHCP enable”, which means it’s waiting (indefinitely) to get an IP address from a DHCP server.

The easiest way to resolve this is to put the AnywhereUSB on a network that has a DHCP server on it (i.e. a router).

However, if that’s not possible, then you’ll need to reset it to factory defaults by using the “AwRescue” utility, which you can download here:

http://ftp1.digi.com/support/utilities/awrescue.zip

Instructions are included within the .zip file.

By the way, setting the unit to factory defaults will disable DHCP (thus, the unit shouldn’t “hang” waiting to get an IP address).

That has worked a treat. I am up and running. Thanks for your help.
