TS16 MEI - RJ-45 8P8C or RJ-50 10P10C

Trying to integrate a TS16 MEI into cabinet for 2-wire RS-485. Manual refers to RJ-45 connectors but port pinout shows 10 pins.

  1. Is a 10P10C (RJ50) the correct connector to use?
  2. Will an 8P8C (RJ45) connector mechanically fit into the port server (assume one will loose pins 1 and 10)?
  3. Is there an existing Digi cable for 2-wire RS-485 wired out to pigtails for connecting to Weidmuller 2.5mm terminals (say 5m length)?
  1. Yes.
  2. Yes, pin-out details for 8 wire cabling can be found here:

  1. I’m not aware of Digi providing this cable. You might want to reach out to Digi Sales to confirm this.

Presales here, we do a 48" 10 pin bare end cable. Not quite 5 meters.
