Watchport V3 Windows 7 Driver

Hi, are there any plans for compatibility with a current Operating System, Windows 7? 32 or 64 bit, either is not an issue.

I would have attempted use use compatibility mode in windows 7 to install the drivers but the drivers do not install through an installer/application.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Unfortunately, Digi has no plans at this time to develop new drivers for the Watchport/V3.

The current release driver is 32-bit only, so it’s not possible for it to work with 64-bit Operating Systems. It has also not been tested on Windows 7, however, based on basic internal testing and customer feedback, it “should” work with Windows 7 32-bit, however it’s still unsupported.

Jeremy, thanks for the reply.

32bit is good. I can work with that. Anyone have any suggestions how to get it working with Windows 7? I’ve tried every way i can think of and no luck at all. I’ve tried forcing the drivers, i’ve tried using generic drivers and ive tried compatibility mode. No luck

Although this is unsupported, I’ll be glad to offer some suggestions when I have a few free minutes.

What is the exact symptom of the problem that you’re running into?

Hello, please post some of your symptoms and we can see if we can provide assistance.

Thanks

Hey guys, simo923 dropped off but I have the same problem. I just bought three Watchport/V3’s for an electronic classroom only to find out they don’t work with Win7!

I have the same issue: drivers not found or installed even when I point the device manager directly at the C:\WpImaging directory…both with DirectX or TWAIN drivers.

Hello, I will try to install a V3 on a Windows7 machine at home to see what I come up with. I have heard of some issues with this configuration but I have not looked into it any further. It seems the best work-around for now would be to install the camera in Windows 7 XP mode, if that is available to you. More to come!
