Without MCU getting data from Digital- Analog I/Os

If I send data of temperature / pressure etc from XBee’s i/o pins, Will it send these informations to another XBee without using any other microcontroller - pic / msp430 etc.???

And because of this should I use API mode? If I should use API mode, Could you possibly share some documents about it to me ?

It is possible using digital I/O line passing.
To do so you need to be using a 802.15.4 (Series 1) XBee.
