Hi all,
Let me start by saying I’m new to DIGI embedded and Yocto. I’m developing an industrial vision application to run on the ConnectCore 6UL SBC Pro.
I’ve managed to get my own build of Digi Embedded Yocto deployed to the hardware and I’m at a point where I need some questions addressed.
1.) Can I boot to Digi Embedded Yocto deployed to SD card? If not, can I use more of the 1GB internal storage? (I’m only using 517M across 5 filesystems)
I first hosted my application on a Raspberry Pi with 64GB(overkill) SD card. It’s a headless webserver with Apache2, Mysql, PHP5, Python, and my camera’s runtime api. It worked. I purchased the Connectcore thinking that it would have similar capability + double Ethernet interfaces.
2.) Busybox. Is Digi Embedded Yocto output a special flavor of BusyBox? Just curious.
3.) Are there any universal OS images out there that are pre-built? Similar to Raspberry Pi. My application doesn’t need to be super lightweight. A pre-built OS with a package manager would be ideal.
4.) Based on the information provided, and my questions, should I abort and find an alternative. Did I choose the wrong hardware/software for my application/skill level? (Sir! please set the DIGI down, back away slowly with your hands up.)
