I have two xbee series 1 units(XB24-aci-001) and first i wanted to try and communicate between them, so i connected one to one pc using xbee explorer usb and the other to my laptop using rs232 interface, using hyper terminal, i tried typing at 1 terminal to see if it will receive at the other… but gets no output… am i doin it wrong somewhere for this simple test?
Are the DL, MY set to the address of the receiving units?
Make sure both XBee’s are on the same ID and CH.
Also, check to make sure the PC Settings tab in XCTU is set for 9600 baud, 8 databits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control, unless you’ve configured the BD parameter of your XBee to other than default value 3.
waltr also brings up a good point if you’re looking for a wire replacement… You can set the DH/DL of one XBee to the SH/SL of the opposite XBee (set each side to the value of the other), then set MY=0xFFFF.
