Device Installer Error when attemting to view info in Device Manager

Anytime I attempt to view the ION multiport Serial – Edgeport / 4 item in Device Manager I receive the following error. — Device Installer Error Windows could not load the Installer for IonMultiPort Serial. If I click on the OK button the properties tabs are then properly displayed. This error also occurs periodically whenever I do a Microsoft Update. I have the 4.20.07 drivers loaded dated 12/6/2006.

Any ideas on how to eliminate the error?

Download this older Edgeport Configuration Utility:
http://ftp1.digi.com/support/utilities/edgeport.exe

Save it, run it, click the Advanced tab, click the Uninstall button then reboot the PC when prompted.

Afterwards, re-install the 4.20 driver.
