Hopefully simple. Just trying to decipher console connection to Cisco device

Maybe I am missing something but all of the documentation looks as if I should be able to take a regular straight through cat5 ethernet cable and connection from the port on the portserver to the console port on the cisco device.

This is not working for me. I do not get any feedback when I connect to the port. Is there something else I should know about the pinout? It looks straight forward which is why i think I am missing something.

Anyone else have this issue?

For our Console Mgmt products (CM & Passport) straight thru will work. For our Terminal Servers (TS) it requires special cabling:

As noted at the above link, this cable can also be purchased thru Digi.
