how to congigure xbee series 1 to support multiple point-to-multipoint communication.

Dear All,

I have 4 xbees series 1. I want to design a project that 3 of those xbees will be connected directly to analog sensors (a microcontroller will not be used) and the xbees should send the data, collected from the sensors, to the base. The base being a xbee connected to arduino YUN. Could you please help me configure the xbees? Should I enable the API mode for all xbees? The base xbee should be set to act as coordinator and the others as end devices?
