how to differentiates a router or end-device？

could anyone please explain how to differentiates a router or an end-device since they have the same firmware?

An end device would basically be a router with sleep mode settings made. Since it goes to sleep, wakes up only occasionally and can no longer route, it becomes an end node.

Can I query a router node? Otherwise is only a traffic control node?

Yes, a router is fully functional for whatever its intended purpose (RS232, RS485, etc.) but it routes as well since it doesn’t go to sleep.
