Is there an AT command that will return the current API Mode of the device?

I want to know the current API Mode of the device without explicitly setting it. Is there an AT command I can send in Command Mode that will return this information (API Mode 1 or 2)?

Sure, simply issue the AP command without a value. You will get back a response with the current value of the command.
