NT parameter in Digimesh

I am using 2 Xbees in digimesh and both are in the factory settings, except in API=1 mode. I observe that my ND and FN, frame type 0x08 works, works perfect and detect each other. But DN frame always gives status error instead of Remote
Command Response frame(0x97) even after variations of NT parameter. How come the ND and FN works fine and not DN

DN is not going to work on a module that is in API mode. The reason for that is that the API frame TX request will overwrite any address that is entered in the DL and DH.

Now the more important question is why are you using Mesh for two modules. That is really a Simple Peer to peer or point to point network.
