Reset password on AnywhereUSB?

I must have made a typo when I configured my AnywhereUSB. It will not take the password I thought I gave it. How is it possible to reset the box? Is it possible? Please help

There’s a password corruption bug in one of the older versions of the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility so I’m going to take an educated guess that the cause of the problem is due to us and not you.

To resolve that issue, download a newer version from our FTP site using the info below. The file name is “AwUsbCfg.v2.3.2.0.exe”. After you download it, rename it to “AwUsbCfg.exe”, close the existing utility (if it happens to be open), then copy/paste this file over the existing one, which is located in “c:\windows\system32”.

If you are using a FTP client:
Host name: ftp://ftp1.digi.com
Username: austin
Password: !15st3n!

If you are using Internet Explorer 6 (or a previous version), copy & paste the following address:

ftp://austin:!15st3n!@ftp1.digi.com

This will automatically log you in with the above Username & Password.

If you are using Internet Explorer 7:

  1. Copy & paste the following address: ftp://ftp1.digi.com
  2. Click the “Tools” button at the top-right and make sure that “Menu Bar” is checked.
  3. click “View” at the top-left then click “Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer”.
  4. In the new window that opens, click “File / Login As”, enter the above Username & Password, then click the “Log On” button.

Does this help?

Thank you very much!

All works very fine now

i just wanted to say i have never worked with a company that has given me uch fast help. thanks for the great service.

Is there a way to just reset the password?

  1. Use a special version of the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility along with a special password, to clear out the existing password.

ftp://austin:!15st3n!@ftp1.digi.com/support/AnywhereUSB/AwUsbCfg.v2.3.0.1.exe

  1. Download the .exe file just above then run it.

  2. Use “K3tA!xJ9&If7R$zA” (without quotes) for the password. It’s easiest to just copy/paste that special password rather than re-typing it. That should get you in the configuration. Click the “Clear password” button then close the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility by clicking “File / Exit”.

In order to avoid a password corruption bug that’s present in the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility you’re running, we recommend installing a newer version of that utility, following the steps below.

*** Note that the steps below are optional. You may not necessarily run into the password corruption bug. ***

A. Download the .exe file just below then rename it to “AwUsbCfg.exe”.

ftp://austin:!15st3n!@ftp1.digi.com/support/AnywhereUSB/AwUsbCfg.v2.3.2.0.exe

B. Copy & paste it over the existing one (overwriting it), which is located in either "c:\windows\system32" or "c:\winnt\system32" depending on your Operating System.

C. Continue running the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility like before, via the Start Menu shortcut.

Thanks very much for the reply JeremyM

that’s working now.

Jeremy, good afternoon. Can you help with this problem? I also entered the password and now I can’t log in to the device. Can you update the link to the files?
