Serial tunneling

I’m trying to connect a serial Palm Pilot to a Linux server. Using RealPort is not an option.

I’m connecting a PortServerTS 2 and a PortServer TS MEI 4 via peer-to-peer serial tunneling. Do the changes in the RS-232 control lines get transmitted when tunneling, or does only data get transmitted?

Only data gets transmitted. Control signals are typically local, i.e. between a serial port and whatever is connected to it.

Does Digi have any products that can do this?

Which signal(s) do you need to transmit the state of?

These are the pins that are on the connector:

DCD, RxD, TxD, Ground, RTS, CTS
