TS4 Cable

I have a device with a 9 pin connector that I want to connect to a TS4 Portserver that has a 10 “pin” RJ45 input jack. The device has all the outputs referred to in the DIGI cable guide (page 7) for an RJ connector, except that is doesn’t have a “SG” wire.

Do I need something connected to the “SG” input to the TS4?

SG stands for Signal Ground, and corresponds to pin 5 on your DB9 interface. You should connect RJ-45 10-wire pin 7 (pin 6 on 8-wire RJ-45) to that pin on the DB9.
