Starting to understand these a little more, i want to check that i can communicate between 2 XBee ZB modules. (Not Pro)
Which exact firmware do i need to load into the both devices to enable then to work as if connected via RS232?
I have looked over the internet but cannot find an answer?
On the Digi page it does say “No configuration needed for out-of-the-box RF communications”
Thats what i want to do initially.

In Zigbee, one of those two modules will have to be the Coordinator, as this is a requirement of the protocol. The other could be either Router or End Device, which would need to be associated to that Coordinator.
As far as which type of firmware to chose, my recommendation would be “AT” firmware, since this is passthrough and it sounds like that’s what you’re looking for.
