Why Etherlite16 Status is always disable?

I tried use Etherlite16 to connect 4 Sun-Netra Servers
Spent 2 weeks couldn’t figure out how to connect, help…help!

I found all port status are alwasy “disable”, how can I enable the port? I already use “admintool” in Solaris to enable it, do I need somewhere else to enable it again?

Based on the “sockets” information, it appears you are using an old obsolete driver.

I recommend upgrading to the latest RealPort driver and EtherLite RealPort firmware from the Digi web site.

Great appreciate.

I do use the latest driver. originally the port is 771, however, if use Port-771. My Etherlite can’t connected.

So I have to upgrade my EtherLite firmware?
what I am not sure is “Does Etherlite could be used as a console server” .

thanks,

charles

The Etherlite can be used as a console server, although its not the optimum choice I’d make if I wanted to console manage some servers. I’d chose a Portserver TS or Digi CM or Passport, something I could connect to without use of a driver i.e. a standalone console server. The Etherlite requires Realport for operation.

As far as the Realport driver not connecting to your Etherlite, it sounds like you need to update the firmware on it. Please read the following for more info on driver/firmware compatability:

Make sense, great appreciate.
