xbee firmware update

Hi,

I would like to make the xbee for coordinator have the firmware version same as another xbee for router by x-ctu.

I tried to update the xbees with following method.
Please kindly inform if what i did is correct.

  1. Connect the xbee to my computer with USB dongle.
  2. Run x-ctu
  3. Click ‘download new versions…’ in the tab, ‘modem configuration’ in x-ctu. Update source is the file downloaded from “http://www.digi.com/support/supporttype?type=firmware”
  4. Select Modem, Function Set and Version(latest)

i have two xbee modules. when connecting one xbee for router, the latest version is 1247. When connecting the other xbee for coordinator, the latest available is 1047.

I am wondering about how to set the two xbees with same firmware version.

I m not sure I understand your question.
You want the two xbee modules to have the same firmware versions? Am I right?
To form a network there should be one Coordinator. So in your case one module is Coordinator and the other one is Router. What is that you are looking for?

If you want to change the firmware of the module, follow the below steps,

  • go to Modem Configuration tab, select proper Modem, Function set and Version
  • click “Show Defaults”
  • enable “Always Update Firmware” checkbox
  • click “Write”

If “Action Required” window pop up, press the reset button on the development board.

Are you asking why coordinator and router have different firmware versions?
Coordinator and Routers have different functionalities so they have different firmware versions.
