AnywhereUSB killing bluetooth

Any time I install anywhereusb and reboot, bluetooth disappears from the computer entirely, happening with two surface pro 11 laptops. Uninstalling anywhereusb fixes it. Are there any solutions to this?

Hello,

Which model AWUSB Plus do you have, that you are seeing this issue with?

What exactly do you mean by bluetooth? Is this a USB bluetooth adapter, for example? If so, is this USB bluetooth device plugged into the AWUSB Plus? Or are you talking about bluetooth that is embedded/included in the surface pro 11 laptops?

This is the only post on this forum that I can find related to the issue I am having.

I have used the 64bit installer to install your AnywhereUSB software on Windows 11 as both a service and a standalone application. In both cases, on reboot Windows 11 no longer recognizes the internal Bluetooth adapter. The USB adapter for my Logitech keyboard/mouse stopped working also. More details below:

Laptop: Dell Latitude 5450 (no “e”)
Windows version:
Edition Windows 11 Business
Version 23H2
Installed on ‎7/‎15/‎2024
OS build 22631.3880
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1020.0

  1. Download 64bit installer
  2. Install AnywhereUSB software in service more
  3. Software does not see AnywhereUSB 8 Plus directly connected using Ethernet
  4. Reboot
  5. AnwhereUSB software still does not see the device
  6. Bluetooth settings missing. Further investigation yielded that Windows does not recognize internal Bluetooth adapter
  7. Uninstall software
  8. Reboot
  9. Bluetooth and Logitech adapter working normally
  10. Repeated steps 1-8 but selected Standalone more. Same results
  11. Downloaded the 32bit version, but it reports that the software is already installed (it isn’t).

We need help with this issue a.s.a.p. or we will have to return the device and find another solution.

Hello and good afternoon,

We recommend opening a support case with Digi by emailing tech.support@digi.com and referencing this forum post (e.g. by providing the URL to it), this way you’ll get a quicker response vs here on the forum, considering that you need help ASAP.

when using a Laptop with docking station, check out this workaround:
