AnywhereUSB reconnect USB device problem

Hello,
we use AnywhereUSB to remotely control the following USB device.
R&S®NRP-Z USB Powermeter Sensor http://www2.rohde-schwarz.com/en/products/test_and_measurement/power_volt_meter/power_meters/NRPZ-|-Key_Facts-|-4-|-1181.html

I have the problem, that if I disconnect the USB device and then after a few seconds reconnect it again, it doesn’t recognize the device again.
I verify this behaviour with the “AnyhwereUSB Viewer Utility”.

If I restart the AnywhereUSB hardware the device reconnects correctly.
If I end my application which communicates with the USB device, it reconnects correctly, too.

Is there a possibility that the device reconnects automatically without ending my application?

If I connect the device directly to the PC it reconnects correctly.

Thanks and regards
Siggi

Siggi,

In normal use, would the Powermeter Sensor ever be disconnected from the AnywhereUSB? It seems to me like the simplest way to resolve this is to just leave it connected to the AnywhereUSB.

Hello jeremym,

thank you for your quick answer.

I’m not sure if I can ensure, that the device is not disconnected.

Is there a possibility to sent a reboot command to the anywhereUSB from my application? Via TCP, UDP,… ?
Please let me know if the possibility exists.

Thank you and regards
Siggi

I’ve uploaded the AnywhereUSB API. I think that will achieve what you’re looking to do.

By the way, which AnywhereUSB driver version are you running? To determine this, click “View / Driver Information” in the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility and note the version of “awusbsys.sys”.
