We are using the Digi One IAP Ascii Import feature to get streaming data of an Alien RFID Reader into our Control Logix L61 processor.
As per the Rockwell ControlLogix Polling Ascii Devices as PCCC slaves document I am using N60:4 with a length of 1 in my Control Logix SLC typer read message. The Digi is setup as per the document as well in RCV Only.
The Alien RFID unit is setup to continuously stream data out of its rs-232 port to the Digi’s rs-232 port. Pass-thru switch is off.
I am reading the Digi buffer N60:4 ( or so I believe ) but the Control Logix read buffer is empty as shown in the CLX string.
I can change the read value but once I read the Digi buffer N60:4, it goes back to being empty.
The Alien Reader is only outputting 13 ascii characters and cannot be polled via the rs-232 port.
