I’m trying to setup a remote console connection between a EtherLite 32 terminal server and an IBM 325 eServer system. I wired a female DB-9 adaptor on the eServer’s end using the pin layout link (ftp://ftp1.digi.com/support/cabling/90000605_a.pdf) but no success in establishing a communication.
Any help would be appreciated.
You will need to install the Realport driver somewhere to create serial devices. You would then be able to access the serial port from that server where the driver is installed.
The Etherlite does not have built-in console capability, it requires the Realport driver be used. If you need to be able to do this without driver, you’ll need to look at something in our Portserver TS line or a Digi CM.
