Range Test

Hi,

yesterday I’ve received two XBee-PRO ZNet 2.5 Mesh RF Modules, and i want to start by doing range test.
when i go to the terminal tab and print
+++ —> i get OK response
atnd

then i should discover the other XBee module ( as the quick start guide says ) but i don’t get any response !!

what i have done wrong ??? and what should i do to do range test between the two modules ??

Taher,

I would recommend following the steps outlined at http://www.digi.com/support/kbase/kbaseresultdetl.jsp?id=2194 and issue a local network reset to the router.

these steps require 3 XBee module !!
i only have 2 !!

The steps actually only require 2 radios and not 3. They are only shown with 3 so you can see what it would be like to have a mesh occurring.

OK , When i type this command “ATND” i get and error .
I’ve tried waiting 10 seconds as the quick guide says but still gives me an error . why ???

Are one of these two modules a Coordinator?

You specified ZNet 2.5, so having a Coordinator is a requirement for setting up the PAN (the other module would be configured as a Router).

yes, I’ve configured one of them as a coordinator and the other one as a router.
once i enter the ATND command i get an error !

What firmware is loaded on the module you’re doing ATND to? I’d like to test it here.

it is 1247 for the router and 1047 for the coordinator.

An error on ATND from the AT Router would indicate that the Router isn’t associated to a Coordinator. You shouldn’t see the error on a Coordinator.

I’ve followed the steps shown here

everything is working great now
thank you all.
