xbee module not recognized

Hello everyone,

First time poster here, having some issues getting my Arduino to recognize an XBee S1 transceiver.

I am using the XCTU software. I can make it to the stage where I’m prompted to reset the radio device and to wait 10 seconds. However, after this reset the XBee is not detected. “Could not find radio module” appears.

For reference, the XBee model that I’m using is:
XB24-API-001 RevD

Also, I am using a MCS01407S shield to make the connection between the Arduino and the XBee.

Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you in advance!
