xbee S1 overheating

i have a xbee series 1 that used to work. i put it in the xbib dev board today and man did it heat up. and i couldn’t communicate with it either.

waited till the board cooled and put in another xbee and it read/write ok as did another series 1.

i guess this thing is cooked but i wanted to ask what could make it all of a sudden heat up like that?

sounds like a short… on the xbee module. If other modules work OK in the dev board, looks like it’s a problem with the over heating module.

i don’t see anything externally.

how would one check this? putting a meter to each pin?
