XBee series 2 pan ID

I’m trying to set my XB24-B pan ID to AAAA but it says the value is out of range! How do i fix this?

name clearly the modules which u are using.

in some modules the pan id is fixed.we cant alter the pan id

I can alter the pan id, but not to “AAAA”. I need it to be “AAAA” because there is a mesh network setup at my school I want to access.

The valid ID range for the current ZNet 2.5 firmware is 0 - 0x3FFF, though 0xFFFF can be set for the coordinator to choose a random Pan ID.

Is the mesh network at your school really ZNet 2.5? Or is it Zigbee perhaps, and if so, which Zigbee implementation (Zigbee 2006? Zigbee PRO?)

The ID range on the current version of our ZB (Zigbee Pro featureset) firmware is 0 - 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF for instance, so my guess is that this is what is actually running on your school mesh network.

Actually I figured out i needed to set OP and I was setting the ID. Thanks for the responses
